I'M REPORTING ON ACTION TAKEN BY THE CITY COUNCIL DURING THE MAY 19TH MEETING ON ITEMS THAT WERE PREVIOUSLY REVIEWED BY THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION. UM, THEY COMPLETED THE SECOND READING OF THE ZONING CASE AT 6 0 7 CRYSTAL FALLS, AND THEN THEY HELD QUITE A FEW PUBLIC HEARINGS. UM, THE FIRST ONE IS 8 0 5 SOUTH BAGHDAD, MINOR PUD. UM, THEY DID APPROVE THAT REQUEST. THEY ALSO REVIEWED THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT, UM, FOR THE, THE CHANGE TO LIVE OAK ROAD. THEY ALSO APPROVED THAT ONE, UM, 50 HIGH GABRIEL EAST MINOR PUD, UM, WAS ALSO APPROVED. AND THEN THE CASE ON 2 69 HERE AWAY WAS APPROVED AND THEY HAD THE CONCEPT PLAN FOR CRYSTAL MESA, SECTION TWO, AND THAT WAS ALSO APPROVED. UM, THEY HELD THE SECOND READING FOR THE SPECIAL USE CASE AT 1 0 7 BAGHDAD STREET. THEY DID DENY THAT REQUEST AND, UM, THEY APPOINTED MEMBERS TO THE OLD TOWN MASTER PLAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE. THE TREE REMOVALS ARE NEEDED DUE TO THE TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION EASEMENT WORK, UH, AREA REQUIRED TO CONSTRUCT A WATER STORAGE TANK AND EAST RETAINING WALL. AND WE'LL SEE A LITTLE EXHIBIT ON THAT. IT IS PALMERO RIDGE SECTION NINE TO THE WEST IS ALSO ETJ AND IT IS UNDEVELOPED. THIS PROPERTY IS LOCATED TO THE SOUTH OF THE FUTURE EXTENSION OF SAN GABRIEL PARKWAY. AS I STATED EARLIER, THE PROPERTY TO THE SOUTH IS DEVELOPED AS THE PALMERA RIDGE SUBDIVISION. THE PROPERTIES TO THE NORTH AND WEST ARE UNDEVELOPED THE LIMITS OF CONSTRUCTION CONTAINED SIGNIFICANT TREE COVER WHERE THE EXPANSION AND IMPROVEMENTS ARE PROPOSED. AND THAT WAS IN YOUR PACKET AS ATTACHMENT NUMBER FIVE, THE TREES PROPOSED FOR REMOVAL AT THIS TIME INCLUDE THOSE WITHIN THE ELEVATED STORAGE TANK YARD AND EXISTING 25 FOOT, UH, PERMANENT EASEMENT. THE PROJECT WILL TAKE ACCESS, UH, OFF OF AZULE LAGOON DRIVE, UM, TO THE SOUTH THAT'S THROUGH THIS AREA. UH, THE PROJECT AREA INCLUDES THE EXISTING SAN GABRIEL, UH, EAST PUMP STATION AND FUTURE SEGMENT OF SAN GABRIEL PARKWAY. SO, UM, IN YOUR PACKET YOU HAD, UM, THE, UH, TREE CALIPER INCHES BROKEN DOWN. UH, WE CAN GO INTO THE MINUTIA IF YOU'D LIKE TO, UM, THE TOTAL MITIGATION, UH, FEES CAME OUT TO BE, UH, $37,800 FEE IN LIEU OF AMOUNT. SO A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE PROJECT. UH, I TOOK THIS OFF OF THE CIP PLANS, SO THEY'RE GOING TO TAKE ACCESS OFF OF RONALD REAGAN HERE. THIS IS EXISTING. UH, THEY'RE GOING TO SWING AROUND HERE, AND THIS IS THE ACCESS EASEMENT THAT THEY'RE REQUESTING. THIS IS THE TEMPORARY WORK AREA. UH, WHEN WE GET TO THE TREE EXHIBIT, YOU'LL SEE WHY THEY HAVE SOME OF THE TREE REMOVALS THAT THEY DO. SO THERE'S GOING TO BE LARGE, UH, CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT. THAT'S GOING TO BE NEEDED TO CONSTRUCT OR BRING OUT THE TANK IS HUGE STORAGE AREA HERE. AND THEY'RE ALSO CONSTRUCTING THIS WALL RIGHT HERE. UM, SO THAT'S TIES INTO THEIR REQUESTS. UM, HERE ARE THE TWO TREES THAT THEY'RE REMOVING, UH, IN TERMS OF SIGNIFICANT TREES, THESE ONES IN BLUE HERE AND HERE. AND THEN THE HERITAGE TREE IS THIS ONE RIGHT HERE.
