SO ITEM NUMBER TEN CONDUCT A PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING SPECIAL USE CASE Z-250161 TO CONSIDER ACTION ON A SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW FOR OUTDOOR SPORTING ACTIVITIES SUCH AS SOCCER, CRICKET, FOOTBALL AND OTHER SIMILAR SPORTS ON TWO PARCELS OF LAND APPROXIMATELY 0.63 ACRES IN SIZE. MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY WILLIAMSON CENTRAL APPRAISAL DISTRICT PARCELS R036045 AND R036046, AND COMMONLY KNOWN AS 302 AND 304 BRUSHY STREET, LEANDER, WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS. HI. GOOD EVENING. THIS IS THE FIRST STEP IN THE ZONING PROCESS. THE APPLICANT SUBMITTED A REQUEST TO ADOPT FOR ADOPT THE SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW FOR THE OPERATION OF BOX CRICKET AND PRACTICE FACILITY, AND THE PROPERTY IS CURRENTLY DESIGNATED AS T5 URBAN CENTER AND DOES NOT ALLOW FOR THE OUTDOOR SPORTING FACILITIES.

THE PERMIT WOULD ALLOW FOR THE PROPOSED BOX CRICKET FIELD AND PRACTICE LANES ON ON A FIVE YEAR TIME LIMIT. THE SURROUNDING AREA IS. LET ME PULL UP THE AERIAL. IT IS EAST OF THE HANGOUT AND WILDFIRE PARK AND THEN WEST OF THE TERRY DAVIS ASSOCIATES OFFICE, AND SOUTHWEST OF BROAD STREET IS THE NIGHT OWL KIND OF A LITTLE BIT OFF THE THE MAP? IF THE COMMISSION DETERMINES THAT THE DEVELOPMENT IS UNIQUE AND BENEFICIAL TO OLD TOWN, STAFF DOES RECOMMEND OPTION ONE TO APPROVE THE PROPOSED SPECIAL USE PERMIT FOR THE FIVE YEAR TIME FRAME. STAFF MADE THIS RECOMMENDATION BASED ON COMPATIBLE LAND USES WITH THE OLD TOWN DISTRICT. THE OLD TOWN MASTER PLAN IDENTIFIES THIS AREA AS THE OLD TOWN CORE CHARACTER DISTRICT, WHICH SHOULD INCLUDE A MIX OF LAND USES WITH A FOCUS ON DESTINATION AND ACTIVITY TYPES SUCH AS RESTAURANTS, COFFEE SHOPS, BARS, BREWERIES, BOUTIQUES, SHOPS, ACTIVITY CENTERS AND OR EMPLOYMENT CENTERS. THE OUTDOOR SPORTING ACTIVITIES MAY BE SORRY, THAT WAS A TYPO. A COMPATIBLE USE IN OLD TOWN AND I WILL BE AVAILABLE AFTER THE PUBLIC HEARING. AND WE HAVE CTCL AND LPL AND. APC WHERE HCC TRIES TO PROVIDE YOUTH AND WOMEN CRICKET, FOSTERING THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CRICKET AS WELL. AND I, I PLAY BOTH BPCL AND HPCL PERSONALLY. I PERSONALLY AM TRYING TO GET TO COACHING. I ALSO COACH A FEW OF MY FRIENDS KIDS AS WELL. SO I'M TRYING TO GET THAT. AND ALSO WE ARE TRYING TO GET THAT ATTRACTION. AND ALSO MAINLY I LIVE IN LEANDER.
